West Ham trio Pablo Fornals, Arthur Masuaku and Fabian Balbuena will not form part of the club’s 23-man squad which is set to head to Asia for the Premier League Asia Trophy, according to a report published by Football.London.
The report added that the trio will not be part of the pre-season trip as the club has opted to give them time off following their international commitments this summer.
Fornals played a prominent role as the Spain U-21 side went on to claim European Championship glory this summer.
He is certainly a player whom the Hammers supporters can be excited about ahead of the new season.
Balbuena played in the Copa America and helped his Paraguay side to reach the quarter-finals before they were eliminated by eventual Champions Brazil on penalties.
Masuaku was involved in the African Nations Cup with DR Congo but did not feature much as his side were shockingly eliminated by Madagascar.
Meanwhile Declan Rice and Lukasz Fabianski have joined up with the rest of the training camp in Switzerland and both have been included in the club’s 23-man squad which is set to travel to Nanjing and Shanghai.
Others players who have been left out of the squad include Jordan Hugill, Sam Byram, Nathan Holland, Reece Oxford, Joe Powell and Marcus Browne. Hugill and Byram in particular are widely expected to leave the club this summer.
Youngsters Ben Johnson, Josh Cullen and Grady Diangana were all included in the tour party and Diangana in particular is understood to have been very impressive. He is one of the most highly rated young players in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.
