West Ham United are back in Premier League action on Sunday with an away day at Goodison Park to face Everton, with the Hammers in dire need of some points.

The Irons are bottom of the table after four matches, with zero points on the board as yet for the London outfit.

While the trip to face Everton will be a tricky encounter, West Ham could well be without key midfielder Jack Wilshere for the trip to Merseyside.

Sky Sports suggest that the England international has picked up an injury and could well sit out the clash against the Toffees.

West Ham have looked devoid of inspiration, energy or creativity in the centre of midfield this season, which has been one of the critical reasons that the side have made such a poor start.

Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini does not have convincing options in the boiler room and as such the potential loss of Wilshere deepens an already alarming situation.

West Ham were beaten heavily by Everton twice last season and will need to be much better if another defeat is to avoided.
