West Ham United are on the verge of signing Lucas Perez from Arsenal after he passed a medical at the club, while Crystal Palace could yet sign Michail Antonio, according to Sky Sports.

The Hammers have had a big summer in the transfer market and landing an additional centre forward to give Manuel Pellegrini an extra option in attack would be the cherry on the cake.

Perez was wanted by West Ham during his Deportivo days but instead opted for a disastrous move to Arsenal, where he was starved of opportunities to play.

Give the modest reported fee (£4 million), the Irons could well have landed themselves a bargain and will ensure competition for places in attack between the new man, Javier Hernandez, Andy Carroll and Marko Arnautovic.

The report suggests Perez will sign a three-year deal with West Ham and that Antonio could leave after his arrival.

The flying winger has been an important man for the Hammers over the years but is no longer guaranteed a starting berth as Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson have joined over the summer.
