West Ham United are set to announce the very late signing of Carlos Sanchez from Fiorentina, according to Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg.

The Colombian midfielder has been linked with the Hammers consistently in recent days and the latest reports are that he will join on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

West Ham sold Cheikhou Kouyate to Crystal Palace earlier this summer and Sanchez was presumably been added to fill the gap left by the Senegalese battler.

The South American has plenty of international experience, while he has also represented clubs in the Premier League, Serie A and La Liga previously.

West Ham’s window must be deemed a success, with Lucas Perez also joining Manuel Pellegrini’s men earlier today.

The Irons fans will hope the new faces can integrate into the group ahead of what promises to be a promising season.

Sanchez is expected to be a West Ham fringe player but he is someone that will add energy and bite to the team.
