West Ham United have expressed a strong interest in signing Brazilian attacking midfielder Evander, identifying the Major League Soccer standout as a key target to inject elite creativity into their attack.
The 28-year-old playmaker has seen his profile soar since making a record-breaking move to FC Cincinnati. Acquired in the largest cash-for-player trade in MLS history from the Portland Timbers in February 2025, the ‘special’ Rio de Janeiro native quickly justified his price tag, finishing his debut season with an impressive 22 goals and 17 assists in all competitions. He also has nine goals and seven assists in the current campaign.

Before moving to the United States, Evander enjoyed five productive seasons with Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland, making 27 appearances in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League and finishing the 2022-23 campaign as the competition’s top assist provider.
Evander is tied to a long-term Designated Player contract in Ohio through the 2027 MLS season, with a club option for 2028.
With this contract security, Cincinnati are under no financial pressure to sell and are expected to demand around €20m for their star.
West Ham have reportedly opened direct talks with intermediaries to gauge Evander’s interest in a Premier League move, but must also balance their own wage bill by offloading fringe players.
