West Ham United open their 2018-19 Premier League campaign on Sunday with a tricky trip to Anfield, with a clash against Liverpool a stern first test for Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
The Hammers have invested heavily in their first-team squad over the course of the summer, with excitement around the club due to the calibre of signings.

West Ham fans will get the chance to see plenty of their new faces on Sunday, with Pellegrini selecting five of his additions in the side to face Liverpool.
Lukasz Fabianski gets the nod to play in the Irons’ goal after his move from Swansea City, while Ryan Fredericks and Favian Balbuena will also start on Merseyside.
In midfield Jack Wilshere is part of a three-man core, while Felipe Anderson will provide support to lone West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic.
It looks like that Pellegrini has sent his side out in 4-3-3 formation, although Declan Rice could also be used in a three-man defence if needs be.
Given the tough nature of the West Ham opening game, a solid performance would be an excellent start and some points would be very welcome.
