West Ham United are edging closer to completing the permanent signing of Adama Traore from Fulham.
According to The Athletic, Traore is poised to become West Ham’s fourth addition of the winter transfer window following the arrivals of Pablo Felipe, Valentin Catellanos, and loanee Keiber Lamadrid.
West Ham have been keen to bolster their ranks, particularly with Nuno already working his magic to get them out of the danger zone.
The Portuguese manager has overseen back-to-back West Ham victories over capital rivals Tottenham Hotspur and high-flying Sunderland.
It’s the first time the Hammers have won consecutive Premier League games since November last year, when they claimed scalps against Newcastle United and Burnley.
Those victories have helped West Ham reduce the gap to 17th-placed Nottingham Forest to five points.
With plenty to fight for in what is set to be a jam-packed second half of the season, West Ham want to make sure Nuno has all the tools he needs to pull them out of the bottom three.
Traore comes in with plenty of Premier League experience under his belt, having made 262 appearances in the competition, scoring 14 goals and providing 27 assists.
Those numbers came across spells with Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Fulham.
Ward-Prowse also given green-light to move
Nuno will fancy his chances of restoring Traore to his very best after working with him for four years at Wolves. Traore admittedly played some of his best football under Nuno, so it appears to be a perfect fit.
While that deal is in the works, West Ham have given outcast James Ward-Prowse the green-light to undergo a medical ahead of his winter move to Burnley.
The experienced midfielder had been frozen out of Nuno’s West Ham squad and considered surplus to requirements, so a loan move to Burnley made sense to all parties involved.
The England international is set to spend the rest of the season on loan at Turf Moor, but the Clarets didn’t include an option to buy in the deal.
