West Ham United are set to sign Fulham forward Adama Traore, according to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto.
The 29-year-old attacker is poised to be West Ham’s fourth addition of the winter transfer window.
The Hammers have already brought in three players this winter, welcoming Pablo Felipe, Valentin Castellanos, and Keiber Lamadrid, who has returned to his former club on loan.
However, West Ham are not done in the transfer market, with the club also looking to move some of their deadwood before the transfer deadline.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo still wants to improve certain areas of his squad, particularly in attack, with West Ham struggling in the final third.
The West Ham board have decided to back Nuno this winter, so a few more names are expected to come in before the transfer window closes on February 2.
The Hammers need further reinforcement to bolster their chances of survival, following a horrendous start to the 2025/26 season.
West Ham currently sit 18th in the Premier League table after taking just 17 points from 22 games.
Nuno’s side are five points away from safety, so they still have plenty to play for in the second half of the season. But they need to splash the cash to improve their chances of surviving the drop.
Traore should be announced in the coming days
Nuno is a long-standing admirer of Traore. He worked with the Barcelona academy graduate during his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers and wants to reunite with him in East London.
The manager knows exactly what Traore can bring, and the chance to reunite seems to have played a major role in pushing this deal forward.
Talks with Fulham had previously stalled, but reports from Italy claim the move is now effectively done.
Traore has made 20 appearances for Fulham this season. He has played in 15 Premier League games, but starting just one means he has only accumulated 262 minutes of first-team football this term.
A move across the capital and a reunion with a familiar face could be what he needs to revive his career, and the deal will likely be announced in the coming days.
