Football pundit Stan Collymore has said that West Ham United star Declan Rice has informed him that he wants to become a more attacking player in the future.
The Hammers fan favourite has established himself as one of the best young defensive midfielders in England.
Rice played a key role for West Ham last season and established himself as a key member of Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
He is likely to continue playing a critical role for the London club going forward and will be an important player as the Hammers look to push towards the Premier League top six.
Judging by the way that Rice is developing, West Ham may end up getting a lot of offers from elite clubs for his services next summer.
Rice may be being a bit too ambitious by suggesting that he wants to be deployed in an attacking role at West Ham.
He is doing well in the defensive midfield role and should rather choose to remain in this position and establish himself as one of the best in the Premier League.
Switching to a more attacking role at this stage would be a risk and it also does remain to be seen if West Ham boss Pellegrini would even be willing to agree to such a change.
Perhaps it is something that can be experimented with during cup games against lower Premier League sides.
Chatted to Rice recently and he sees himself playing further forward in years to come.
Definitely like the idea of him, Maddison and Mount as a 3, fluid , interchangeable , mobile.@MirrorFootball LIVE
