Manchester United are reportedly willing to offer West Ham United around £45 million as well as the services of Phil Jones in order to lure Issa Diop this summer, according to reliable Hammers insider EXWHUEmployee.
Diop joined the Hammers last summer from Toulouse. The youngster was largely impressive as he went on to play 33 Premier League games, scoring one goal and recording one assist.
I believe it was Phil Jones but I think they were open to any centre back really https://t.co/jTyONvJe0c

The Frenchman was one of Manuel Pellegrini’s top performers last season and West Ham will naturally be very hesitant to lose him after just one season.
United are aiming to bolster their defence this summer. The Red Devils backline is clearly one of their major weak points with the likes of Marcus Rojo, Jones and Chris Smalling having all struggled during recent years.
At the moment, Diop is a better defender than Jones and Hammers fans will be disappointed if the club traded him in for the 27-year-old Englishman. However, the East Londoners may have no real say in what happens should Diop really push for a move.
If the player pushes for a move to happen, it would be best to let him go as keeping him around could create negative vibes behind the scenes.
Jones, who is a one-time Premier League winner with United, may have struggled for good form during recent years but he is still good enough to play at the highest level and is now at the peak of his career.
While he would be a downgrade on Diop, he could still add plenty of value to the West Ham first-team and acquiring him would be better than having no immediate replacement for the former.
