West Ham v Leicester City Preview

It’s going to be hard for there not to be an overwhelming feeling of optimism on Saturday when Leicester City visit Upton Park.  Fresh from the victory over Arsenal, some sound summer acquisitions and Slaven’s home Premier League debut. That optimism must not tun to complacency however, look what happened to Arsenal when that set in last week.

There are not too many questions over selection, I’d imagine the only issue is whether Jenkinson returns at right back for Tomkins, who did sterling work there last week.  For me, it’s a yes, Jenkinson has good pace on him and I think we were a bit lucky that Arsenal did not have the wherewithal to isolate Tomkins and exploit his slower trot.  Watching Leicester last week, they were all about the pacey counter, usually driven by the lively Marc Albrighton.  They looked impressive enough and we should not be takinganyhting for granted here.  Ranieri is a bit of a funny character but he has also been around the game enough to know his way, it may not be the comedy appointment some people are playing it up to be.

The other question may be around the management of Reece Oxford and whether he is already seen as an every week starter or if he spends some time on the bench. I have a feeling he will start but may be sacrificed after 60 minutes for a Diego Poyet cameo.

Prediction?  Tough call, but I see goals in this one and a 2-2 draw is not beyond the pale.  In context of the victory last week, it would be an acceptable result.  Anyway, come on you Irons!!!  And if you’re feeling lucky, head off to https://mybettingbonus.co.uk/ to place a bet, they will find you a nice free bet bonus with a variety of bookmakers.  So whether it’s a last minute Nolan header to seal the win or a penalty save from Adrian, you can put your money where your mouth is!
