West Ham turn down €15m bid for transfer flop Luis Guilherme

With just days remaining in the transfer window, West Ham United are intensifying their search for reinforcements, especially in the forward areas.

The Hammers are in desperate need of a new striker following injuries to Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio, leaving them short of options up front.

The East London club has been linked with several high-profile forwards, including Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson, but financial constraints could complicate their plans.

In order to stay within the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), West Ham may need to offload players before making any significant signings.

One player who could be on the move is Luis Guilherme.

The 18-year-old Brazilian winger, who arrived from Palmeiras last summer in a €30 million (£25.5m) deal, has struggled for game time at the London Stadium.

He has struggled to make an impression at the London Stadium, making just six substitute appearances this season and is behind the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, and Crysencio Summerville in the pecking order.

A number of clubs have been looking to offer the former Palmeiras forward an escape route from East London, but nothing has materialised.

West Ham need to accept a loss on Guilherme and move on

Recently, Shakhtar Donetsk submitted a €15m (£12.5m) bid for Guilherme, but according to UOL, West Ham rejected the offer.

The Hammers aren’t willing to make such a huge loss on the Brazilian forward, but they may not have much of a choice.

Guilherme’s stock has plummeted since joining West Ham, and it’ll be difficult to find a suitor willing to match their outrageous asking price.

Not even the Saudis are willing to make such a move for the underwhelming winger.

With limited opportunities in the first team, a move away from East London is the best option for all parties involved.

For Guilherme, getting regular first-team minutes elsewhere would aid his development, while West Ham could use the funds from his potential sale to strengthen their squad.

However, the Hammers would need to be realistic about their demands to facilitate a transfer.
