West Ham team news: Midfielder fit but may not be risked against Leicester, attacking duo out

West Ham United play against Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon at the London Stadium.

Manuel Pellegrini’s Hammers side have blown hot and cold this season and are currently in poor form, having lost their past three consecutive league games against Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton.

West Ham should aim to claim three points from this game. They can after all certainly defeat Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester side if their players gel well on the day.

The Hammers were also playing relatively well during their last game against United even though they ended up losing. If West Ham can carry on that momentum into this fixture, they should be able to get points from the game.

West Ham will have striker Marko Arnautovic fit again while defender Aaron Cresswell could also be set to return to action following a knee problem, according to a report published by BBC Sport.

Pellegrini’s side will however have to make do without the services of Manuel Lanzini due to a shoulder injury.

The Argentine, who was one of the club’s star performers during recent years, has sadly had to miss the vast majority of this season following a horrific injury last summer while training with Argentina ahead of the 2018 World Cup. Hopefully his career can be revived.

Javier Hernandez and Samir Nasri are also set to miss the game through ear and calf problems respectively, added the report. It also claimed that Jack Wilshere is fit again but that the West Ham man may not be risked.
