West Ham team news: Hammers receive injury boosts ahead of Southampton game

West Ham play against Southampton in a Premier League clash at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The Hammers will be looking for another victory after having made history and become the first team to defeat Tottenham at their new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend.

Southampton may only be playing for pride as they have all but secured their Premier League status for another season. Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham side will be fired up to try and claim a solid finish on the top half of the standings.

The Hammers will be without the services of Andriy Yarmolenko, Andy Carroll and Winston Reid for the game, according to West Ham’s official website.

The report added that Manuel Lanzini, Winston Reid, Samir Nasri, Carlos Sanchez and Aaron Cresswell could all be set to make their first-team returns. The Hammers will have to make do without the services of Robert Snodgrass for Saturday’s game after the midfielder picked up his 10th yellow card last weekend and will be out for the rest of the season.

Pedro Obiang is expected to start the game and will join Mark Noble and Declan Rice in midfield.

West Ham will go into this side as the slight favourites. After struggling to play well during the first half of the season, the Saints have now achieved their objective which was to avoid relegation. West Ham who have blown hot and cold this season will be looking to win the game so that they can end the season with something to celebrate.
