West Ham star reportedly a transfer target for London rivals

West Ham United playmaker Manuel Lanzini is being tracked by London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Mirror.

The report claims that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is an admirer of his fellow Argentine and is keeping tabs after Slaven Bilic was sacked as Hammers boss earlier this week.

David Moyes was swiftly appointed as the Croatian’s replacement and will take charge of his first match next Sunday when the team travel to Watford in the Premier League.

He will be expected to build his new-look Irons side around Lanzini, who has been one of the club’s better performers in what has been a disappointing campaign to date.

However, with Moyes generally favouring a more direct style of play throughout his managerial career, there is some doubt as to whether he is the man to get the best out of the diminutive 24-year-old.

There are a number of outfits in England’s top flight who may be interested in landing Lanzini should he become available, with Tottenham’s interest said to be matched by Merseyside duo Everton and Liverpool.

The former River Plate trainee is a firm favourite at the London Stadium and should Moyes let him move to a domestic rival it would doubtless be a hugely unpopular decision.

There is no indication as of yet that Lanzini is planning to leave and Hammers fans will expect to see him in the starting XI next weekend at Vicarage Road.
