West Ham skipper Noble gives his view on training under new manager David Moyes

Mark Noble says that the players have ‘enjoyed training’ under new West Ham United boss David Moyes since his appointment last week.

The 54-year-old arrived at the club as Slaven Bilic’s replacement and has had the international break to prepare his charges for the away trip to Watford on Sunday.

It is clear that the Scot has made an impression on his playing staff and Noble was quick to highlight the feel-good atmosphere around Rush Green at present.

“It has been really good working under the new manager David Moyes and his coaching team,” the captain told the club’s official website.

“When a new manager comes in, the intensity goes up straight away because all the players are playing for a place in the team.

“Obviously, every manager is different and does things in different ways, and the boys have enjoyed training, doing different activities in the sessions he has put on.”

Elsewhere, Noble praised Moyes’ ‘attention to detail’ and stated that the newly assembled coaching team, including the likes of Alan Irvine and Stuart Pearce, were complementing each other well.

The standard of training was widely speculated to be a contributing factor to declining results under Bilic and fans will be pleased to hear that this is being addressed.

The Hammers currently sit 18th in the Premier League table with just two wins from a possible 11.

Bilic’s tenure came to an end after the dismal 4-1 home defeat by Liverpool and whilst Moyes was not a universally popular choice to replace the Croatian, the fact that he was bought in quickly and has had a fortnight to work with the players is likely to be beneficial.

After facing Watford at Vicarage Road this weekend, the Irons’ next engagement is a home clash with Leicester City on November 24.
