West Ham set to complete double signing of Niclas Fullkrug & Guido Rodriguez

West Ham United are set to complete the double signing of Niclas Fullkrug and Guido Rodriguez, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Hammers were initially reluctant to match Borussia Dortmund’s demands for Fullkrug but ultimately agreed to pay £25.5 million to sign the German striker.

The structure of the deal will see West Ham pay an initial £21.1m plus a further £3.4m in performance-related add-ons.

Fullkrug is expected to sign a three-year deal with the option of an additional 12 months and will pocket around £2.5m per year in wages.

The 31-year-old will undergo medical examinations in the coming days.

Julen Lopetegui reportedly pushed for the Irons to sign Fullkrug, and technical director Tim Steidten led negotiations for the experienced striker.

He notched 16 goals and ten assists in 46 games across all competitions for Dortmund last season. He also scored twice for Germany at this summer’s European Championship.

Barring any late twists, Fullkrug will be joined by Guido Rodriguez at the London Stadium. The Argentine midfielder is also on the cusp of signing for the Hammers.

The 30-year-old is a free agent after cutting ties with Real Betis earlier this summer and is set for a new chapter in the Premier League.

Rodriguez featured 29 times across all competitions for Betis last season, contributing two goals and an assist. He was also part of the Argentina squad that won the 2024 Copa America.

West Ham are assembling an exciting squad

West Ham could be the team to watch next season, with Steidten and Lopetegui assembling an exciting squad at the London Stadium.

After signing Max Kilman, they’re on the cusp of adding Fullkrug and Rodriguez, while a deal for coveted Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is also in the pipeline.

The Hammers are also working on a deal to sign Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after missing out on Noussair Mazraoui.

With the calibre of players about to join the squad, West Ham should have a group strong enough to mount a serious bid for a top-six finish this season.
