West Ham receive timely injury boost as key figure could be back before Christmas

West Ham United could see Andy Carroll back in action before the end of the year, according to a report by Claret and Hugh.

The website, that has proven over time to provide reliable news about the Hammers, has stated that the injury-prone striker could return before the festive period.

Carroll is the first of the club’s long-term injury concerns to have been given a timeframe for a return, with Winston Reid still thought to be out for a while.

The 29-year-old’s future at the London Stadium is thought to be drawing to a close following the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini.

The Hammers boss had been active in the transfer window bringing in a number of his own targets and it is thought he could have been prepared to have offloaded the England international prior to the injury.

Should he return before the end of the year, West Ham could have the perfect opportunity to sell him for a small fee, otherwise, they could let him go next summer on a free transfer with his current deal set to expire.

Pellegrini’s first competitive match in charge of the Hammers did not go as well as he would have liked and will be looking for a reaction from his team when they meet Bournemouth at the London Stadium on Saturday.

They were heavily beaten 4-0 by Liverpool last Sunday in a performance that lacked plenty of quality, although the Chilean had decided to use plenty of his debutants.
