West Ham fans furious on Twitter with attacker’s performance in cup: “Awful”, “Woeful”

West Ham United scrapped past Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night and Hammers fans were not best pleased with the performance of one of their men on social media.

The London Stadium outfit needed extra-time to defeat the League One outfit to progress to the next round of the tournament, where they will face either Bournemouth or Wigan.

West Ham manager David Moyes had used the game as a chance to rest the majority of his first-team and saw it as an opportunity to give some of his youngsters minutes.

Reece Burke managed to make the most of the chance to show what he could do and found the winner in the 112th minute of the match when the Hammers starlet smashed the ball in off the underside of the crossbar.

West Ham looked vulnerable during the game and could have been facing a shock exit if it was not for Joe Hart making crucial saves.

However, the Irons dominance in extra-time eventually paid off as Shrewsbury could not contain all the pressure their Premier League opponents threw at them.

The West Ham faithful were not pleased with their team’s performance against the League One outfit in the first game and would have been looking for a more controlling display in the replay.

However, it appeared to be the same story at the London Stadium as the Irons failed to break down the Shrews and frustrated fans on the night.

West Ham supporters took to Twitter to share their anger with the performance and singled Andre Ayew out specifically, stating that he failed to offer them anything and called him useless before he was substituted in the second half.

The African forward has not replicated his Swansea City form since joining the Hammers and as such has been linked with a January sale in some quarters.

Here are some of the West Ham supporters’ reactions:
