West Ham aim to break dismal winless streak in crunch clash against Man United

West Ham United will take on Manchester United at Old Trafford later today, hoping to finally end their woeful winless streak.

The Hammers haven’t won a Premier League game since February, when they dispatched relegated Leicester City 2-0 at the London Stadium.

Since then, Graham Potter’s side have gone eight games without a win, alternating between a loss and a draw.

That run started with a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United. Now, West Ham will head to Old Trafford on the back of a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

On paper, West Ham and United are evenly matched. Both sides have been awful to watch this season, and only two points separate them ahead of Sunday’s game.

How West Ham could line up

West Ham are preparing to make key defensive adjustments ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against United at Old Trafford.

Following a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Tottenham last weekend, where Jarrod Bowen continued his fine form with a well-taken goal, Potter is expected to reward the winger with another starting berth.

Tomas Soucek is set to anchor the midfield alongside Lucas Paqueta once again.

Meanwhile, Aaron Cresswell, who is set to leave the club this summer, will likely make way for Konstantinos Mavropanos at centre-back.

There could also be changes at wing-back. Promising youngster Oliver Scarles is in contention to replace Emerson on the left flank.

Up front, Niclas Fullkrug has been in the headlines over the past couple of weeks after openly criticising the mentality in the West Ham locker room.

However, he should be tasked with leading the line on Sunday, while the Hammers are still waiting for an update on the fitness of club stalwart Michail Antonio.

The Jamaican striker hasn’t featured for the Hammers since December after he was involved in a serious car accident.

Predicted XI:

(3-4-2-1): Alphonse Areola; Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Lucas Paqueta, Tomas Soucek, Oliver Scarles; Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen; Niclas Fullkrug.
