West Ham 5 Burnley 1

Well, it's nice to feel 'overchuffed' again at a solid Hammers performance.  Whilst Burnley occasionally threatened our shaky defence, the firepower up-front was too much for the boys from the fizzy pop and we gave them a comprehensive beating.

Big thumbs up goes to Thomas Hitzlsperger, making his debut for us and scoring a 20 yard cracker to open the scoring.  It's great to have a player of the calibre of Thomas in the team and his experience and ability could really make a difference for us.  Shout out to Carlton Cole as well, for two goals which should both sides of Carlton.  At times his touch is poor, on others he is capable of scoring awesome goals as he did for the second.  But, quite frankly, I don't care how they go in, as long as they do.

My only concern is at the back where Winston Reid is still bedding in.  I actually think he is a good future prospect for the club, but I would want Da Costa slotting into his place for the run in.  Tomkins did well tonight which helps.  Wayne Bridge has not quite found his rhythm yet and some poor decision making by him led to their consolation goal, a mishap I hope.

To be honest, I'm not overly fussed by the FA Cup, i'd much rather we stay up, but a result like tonight can only help the confidence of the players and give the new boys more chance to understand each other.  Good work lads, lets do the same to Liverpool!
