The Hammers sealed another survival point this evening in a scrappy draw at Upton Park. This caps a three game unbeaten run which has seen four points from Blackburn and Fulham and will be capped by a six pointer against Wolves on Saturday.
There were four changes to the team who won at Fulham, but neither of the new full backs covered themselves in glory. Illunga limped off after an annoymous start and Faubert's distribution was lacklustre throughout. Sears kept his place and whilst his effort was admirable, I just think we need someone with a little more experience in that position at the moment. That Barrera is not making the grade could suggest he is off in January, it seems to be this was a punt that did not work.
On the plus side, Kovac put in a decent shift, Parker was as immense as ever and Upson and Tomkins seem to be developing a decent partnership. Green was also alert when required.
Sorry about the lack of posts over the festive period, I've been spending some quality time with Mrs West Ham Blog and enjoying the Xmas break. But I'll still be keeping you all posted on everything West Ham in 2011. Hope you had a good one and have a happy new year, let's hope the Hammers kick it off in style!
