West Ham United succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to London rivals Arsenal on Saturday night, but a much improved performance from the Irons will encourage David Moyes and the supporters.
Michail Antonio drew the Hammers back level after Alexandre Lacazette’s opener, while the away side looked like the better team for large portions of the game.
However, West Ham did not take any of the chances created in the second 45 minutes and were stung at the death, with Arsenal substitute Eddie Nketiah scoring to break Hammers hearts.
Moyes opted to change formation for the trip to the Emirates Stadium, with a 3-4-3 system working well.
Arthur Masuaku, after impressing in West Ham’s midweek Carabao Cup win over Charlton, was fielded at left wing-back and put in another excellent display.
The Hammers wideman splits fans opinions, with his defending leaving something to be desired – especially when he plays as part of a back four.
However, with Masuaku given licence to get forward from the wing-back role, plenty of West Ham fans thought the Congolese 26-year-old was the team’s best player against Arsenal.
Some supporters took to Twitter in the aftermath of the game, with the best Hammers reactions to Masuaku’s performance below:
