Issa Diop rejected offers from the likes of Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham in order to join West Ham, according to a report published by The Mirror.
The 22-year-old has been a hit at the London Stadium this season as he has gone on to make 33 Premier League appearances, scoring one goal and and recording one assist. He has established himself as one of the most important players under Manuel Pellegrini.
Diop certainly made a correct decision by joining the Hammers. The decision has paid dividends as he has proven to be a success at the London Stadium. He would have also become a better player from the experience which he has gained.
Had he joined Everton or Spurs, he most likely would have not earned as much game time as he did at the Hammers due to stronger competition for first-team spots.
For now West Ham is the right place for Diop to be. While he is showing promise, he still does have flaws in his game and should remain at the London Stadium for a long time into the future.
With the summer transfer window here, Pellegrini should look to build his defence around Diop and the star will be a key man next season once more.
