I'm sitting in front of Sky Sports News for you all and keeping my ear to the ground, but at the moment it is still runmour and speculation regarding West Ham's transfer deadline activity. Though I must admit, I miss andy Burton and his three mobile phones on the desk, always added a sense of excitement to the occasion!
Anyway here is my understanding of things so far;
Scott Parker will be staying.
Liverpool have made a bid for Carlton Cole – I believe we want Babbel as part of the deal but he wants to stay at Liverpool. There is a chance the deal could collapse based on this stalemate.
We also looked at Robbie Keane as a replacement, but he does not want to come to Upton Park either.
We have made an enquiry to bring Pascal Chimbonda to Upton Park on a loan deal – yes please, cracking player when he wants to be.
To be honest, I don't think any of our deals will be revealed before 6pm or even necessarily today. Remember when Di Michele and Illunga were signed a few days after the deadline? Work permits and other aspects can delay official announcements. But I'll be amazed if we don't make a move for a right back at least. I'll keep you posted…
