Spurs v West Ham Preview

Monday illustrated the jekyll and hyde nature of our season, with a poor first half followed by a much stronger second.  I've noticed this as a pattern with the Hammers under Allardyce and wonder if he is better at responding to a situation rather than setting up against one.  I've no doubt we are very well prepared for matches, just wonder if he finds it easier to tinker 'as live'.  Nonetheless, we did our Premier League Odds of survival some good with another well earned point.

If Sam does have any remaining doubters, he could shake them off with a victory at our little rivals down the lane this Sunday.  No doubt the one game most Hammers fans want to win, with many of us working or being friends with Spurs fans and the delusions of grandeur.  My dislike of them has only been increased with introduction of AVB, the powerpoint based former manager of the British Virgin Islands.  I just don't really get how he has found himself in the roles he has, though perhaps him and Spurs are suited, both stuck in the belief that think they are better than they actually are.

As for the team, let's hope Yossi and Matt are back in contention, we really missed the width they brought us.  I'd also certainly start Joey O'Brien against Bale, as frankly Bale would give Demel quite a hard time.  I've got a feeling its made for Andy Carroll to open his account with us, he could certainly find some joy against a defence that let in 5 last weekend.

There are various options for West Ham Betting to take this weekend, and I'm going for the draw, perhaps at 1-1 with a tense affair but both teams struggling to finish the other off.  If Sam can find us consistency, we could even be in for a pleasant surprise, come on you Irons!!!
