Some West Ham fans react to Josh Cullen’s performance vs Charlton

West Ham United recorded a positive 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, with a much-changed team proving too good for their Football League opponents.

Hammers boss David Moyes made mass changes to the team that lost to Newcastle United at the weekend, with a host of fringe men getting their chance to impress.

Sebastien Haller claimed the headlines by scoring two of West Ham’s goals, while there were a number of strong performances from other players hoping to be more-regular features in the starting XI.

Young midfielder Josh Cullen was handed a rare chance to feature in the Hammers side and put in an industrious display in the heart of the home side’s midfield, alongside Robert Snodgrass.

The West Ham youth product has been touted as a rising star at the East London club for a number of years, but has been forced to go out on loan to get a chance to play regularly.

Cullen will have done his first-team hopes no harm in his performance against Charlton and the Hammers supporters were vocal in their praise of the all-action midfielder in the aftermath of the victory.

The almost unilateral opinion on Twitter was that the West Ham youngster is ready for Premier League action, with some fans even calling for the talented midfielder to get the nod ahead of club captain Mark Noble in the Premier League clash against Arsenal this weekend.
