West Ham United fans were quick to take to Twitter on Saturday after seeing former player Grady Diangana score his first goal for new club West Bromwich Albion.
The Hammers supporter base was livid last month after the East London club’s hierarchy opted to offload the promising winger to the newly promoted side.
Diangana spent last season on loan at West Brom, helping the Baggies get promotion to the Premier League, and it was expected that he would return to play an important role for West Ham this term.
However, the sale was made in an effort to fund other deals and the Hammers fans were left scratching their heads.
Diangana opened the scoring for West Brom against Everton yesterday, picking the ball up on the halfway line before slamming home from just outside the home side’s penalty box.
Despite the Baggies ending up on the wrong end of a 5-2 defeat, the former West Ham man was a bright spark for the visitors.
West Ham’s fans watching the game were quick to comment on Diangana’s goal, with it acting as another dagger in the heart.
