West Ham United striker Xande Silva is set to join Greek side Aris on a season-long loan deal, according to Sky Sports.
The young Portuguese attacker is a promising prospect but has not been given many opportunities to feature in the Hammers first team since moving to East London.
Silva needs regular first-team football to progress and with this not coming at West Ham, a loan exit could well be a shrewd move for all parties.
The Hammers have until 11pm on Monday night to conclude their transfer business, with high hopes a defender can be signed and the potential for some fringe men to exit.
In attack, West Ham have transformed Michail Antonio into an excellent striking option, with the versatile star now David Moyes’ preferred player to lead the line.
Sebastien Haller was signed from German side Eintracht Frankfurt last summer at considerable expense but has not proven value for money, but the French forward provides strength in depth in attacking areas.
With West Ham out of the Carabao Cup, Silva was unlikely to receive many opportunities if he stayed at the London Stadium for the 2020-21 campaign and will be better served playing on a weekly basis for Aris.
The Hammers fans will hope the Portuguese forward returns to London next summer as an improved player and with the ability to compete for a first-team place.
