West Ham United are one of four Premier League teams trying to complete a summer deal for Lyon attacker Bertrand Traore, according to Football Insider.
The Hammers need to bolster David Moyes’ options in the final third and will surely look to add a new forward or two to the Irons squad during this window.
West Ham started to look impressive towards the end of 2019-20, with Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio both excelling and scoring freely in the latter stages of the Premier League campaign.
However, other Hammers forwards such as Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller have struggled to make an impact in recent times.
The latest report suggests West Ham are joined by Burnley, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United in harbouring an interest in Traore.
The 24-year-old reported Hammers target has fallen down the pecking order at Lyon, with his playing time for the French side reduced in 2019-20.
Capped 54 times by Burkino Faso and having an impressive scoring record in previous seasons in Ligue 1, West Ham could do worse than to land the African attacker.
Traore is also versatile enough to play in a number of positions across the forward line and has a substantial reputation.
While no potential fee was mentioned in the report, the impressive attacker would be an exciting signing for West Ham.
