Report: West Ham receive loan offer, potential late deal

West Ham United midfielder Robert Snodgrass is wanted by Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic, with the Daily Record suggesting the Bhoys have made an offer to loan the veteran as the transfer deadline approaches.

The Hammers have the likes of Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice and Mark Noble as their first-choice operators in the heart of the team, with the Scotland international working to regain a place in David Moyes’ preferences.

Snodgrass has recently returned from a long-term injury and has played well when given a chance to feature for West Ham, which has predominantly been in the Carabao Cup this season.

While the Hammers have options in the heart of their team, the former Leeds United man adds creativity, a potential for goals and excellent delivery – attributes not necessarily apparent in the Irons’ other midfield players.

West Ham are set for a long season and as such Moyes will need to consider whether he can afford to let Snodgrass leave on a temporary basis.

The Scot also has the ability and versatility to play across the midfield, which could be invaluable as the Hammers switch their formation dependant on the opposition.

West Ham have until 11pm on Monday to conclude their transfer business, with Snodgrass’ future remaining up in the air until then.
