Report: West Ham ready to make offer for new striker target, club reluctant to sell

West Ham United have turned their attention to Hoffenheim centre forward Munas Dabbur as a potential addition in the final days of the summer transfer window, according to Transfer 20

The Hammers are short of out-and-out strikers in David Moyes’ squad, with Sebastien Haller signed last summer at great expense but struggling to build momentum in East London.

As such, West Ham are overly reliant on the versatility of Michail Antonio, who has been deployed as the furthest man forward for the Irons in recent months.

New defenders are surely the priority for the Hammers, but another proven striker would be a welcome addition also.

West Ham have offloaded Albian Ajeti and Jordan Hugill this summer, reducing Moyes’ options in attack.

Dabbur is an Israel international who moved to Hoffenheim from Spanish side Sevilla in January and has impressed for the Bundesliga outfit.

The report suggests West Ham have Roma for competition in the race for the centre forward, but the German outfit are also reluctant to offload their attacker.

The Hammers have until 11pm on Monday evening to add new faces to Moyes’ squad before the transfer window closes.
