West Ham United are one of the teams interested in signing out-of-favour Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey this summer, according to Calcio Mercato.
The Hammers are in desperate need of reinforcements, with Tomas Soucek’s permanent arrival at the London Stadium the only addition of note this summer.
On the other hand, West Ham have cashed-in on a number of first-team players, including rising star Grady Diangana, to add money to the club’s coffers.
The latest report suggests the Hammers, along with Crystal Palace, are interested in Ramsey, who Juventus are willing to offload.
West Ham have the likes of Soucek, Declan Rice and Mark Noble in the heart of their midfield, who are all deep-lying, defensively minded players.
As such, any potential deal for Ramsey would add a player of quality to David Moyes’ side who is able to get forward and offer goals from the heart of the team.
It appears to be seen whether West Ham currently have the financial clout to pull of a deal of such significance, especially as the club’s owners appear reluctant to splash the cash this summer.
The Irons started the new 2020-21 Premier League season with a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.
