Report: West Ham interested in these seven players, Guardian states

The Guardian have stated that West Ham United have an interest in as many as seven players as the close of the transfer window approaches.

The Hammers have had an enterprising season so far in 2021-22, with David Moyes’ men hopeful of securing European qualification again this term – the London side are currently in fifth place on the Premier League table.

Signing reinforcements before the transfer window closes on Monday night would be a big boost for West Ham, with the latest report suggesting the Irons are interested in recruiting players at both ends of the pitch.

The Guardian suggest that Leeds United duo Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips are in the Hammers’ gaze, with Moyes’ men willing to break the club’s transfer record to sign one or both.

However, West Ham’s attempts to land the Elland Road stars have been unsuccessful so far, with Marcelo Bielsa’s men unwilling to part with either of their crucial players, the report continues.

The Hammers may well be looking at alternatives, with the report stating that Bayer Leverkusen forward Patrik Schick, who lit up Euro 2020 for the Czech Republic last summer, is also of interest.

Other players that West Ham are reporting scouting include Blackburn Rovers’ free-scoring centre forward Ben Brereton Diaz, Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Crystal Place target man Christian Benteke and Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car.

Signing any of these players would be good news for West Ham fans, with Moyes’ squad lacking real strength in depth, especially in the centre forward position.

Hammers supporters will wait with anticipation to see if any of these deals can be completed, with the transfer window closing at 11pm on Monday night.
