Report: West Ham interested in former Premier League joke figure

West Ham United are interested in signing Hoffenheim striker Andrej Kramaric, according to a report published by Italian source Calciomercato.

The Hammers will need to sign new strikers this summer. There is plenty of speculation surrounding the futures at the club of Marko Arnautovic, Andy Carroll, Lucas Perez and Javier Hernandez.

None of the four West Ham players have managed to find any degree of good consistency this term as well.

The 27-year-old Kramaric is currently at the peak of his career and has been impressive in the German top-flight so far this season.

The reported West Ham target has so far netted 15 goals in the German league from 25 appearances and contributed three assists in the process.

Many Hammers fans will remember the Croatian international for a failed spell with Leicester City.

He arrived at the King Power Stadium in 2015 amidst heavy expectations from Rijeka. He struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League and went on to score just two goals from 15 Premier League appearances before being sold to Hoffenheim in 2016.

Reported West Ham target Kramaric has been one of the stars in the German top division this season and is a versatile player, being able to operate as a winger or centre-forward.

The Hammers have blown hot and cold this season and Manuel Pellegrini will need to make some smart decisions this summer if he wants to get the club to qualify for the Europa League next term.

Kramaric could be a smart addition to the West Ham side. He is a player who has all the ingredients required to succeed at the Olympic Stadium.
