Reliable Journalist claims that West Ham have agreed deal to sign Colombian midfielder

West Ham have agreed a deal in principle to sign Colombian midfielder Cuellar Gallego of Flamengo, according to reliable South American Journalist Gustavo Henrique.

The reporter added that the 26-year-old will sign a contract with the Hammers this summer after the Copa America. The deal is believed to have been settled between the two clubs though it has not yet been signed.

Cuellar has been plying his trade with Flamengo in Brazil since 2016 and has since gone on to register 70 League appearances for the club. He has been part of the Colombian national team since 2015 and has since gone on to win five caps for his country.

He was included in the Colombian preliminary squad for the World Cup in Russia last summer but ended up failing to make it to his nation’s final 23-man squad. He was a key member of the Colombian squad which finished in fourth place during the 2009 U-17 World Cup.

At 26, Gallego is approaching the peak of his career and he certainly does have the ability to add value to the Hammers side if the deal goes ahead. The Hammers blew hot and cold this season as they ended in tenth place. While there are positives to take away from this season, they need to bring in reinforcements to their side this summer if they want to challenge the top six hierarchy next season.

In order to improve,West Ham must not make the mistake of signing injury prone players this summer. It is something which has cost them dearly over the years.
