I like to check on my predictions pre season again in May time, and invite you all to do the same. So, here we go…
League Position – 9th – a comfortable season but tempered by a few slaps from the big boys means our points haul will be sufficient without being spectacular
Top Scorer – Diafra Sakho – whilst occasional injuries blight his season, Diafra remains our clear winner
Surprise transfer – Andy Carroll – a late comeback in October with a scoring run leads to a loan move to struggling Leicester
Hammer of the Year 1st Aaron Cresswell, 2nd Dimitri Payet, 3rd Diafra Sakho. Young Hammer – Reece Oxford. Whilst Payet provides great flair, the consistency of Cresswell makes him win the day. Sakho’s class on the field brings him in a close third. I love the look of Reece Oxford, a real future star, so mature for his age.
Best performance – Aston Villa 4 West Ham 5 – a boxing day thriller sees both teams throwing caution the wind but a last minute Payet scorcher wins it for the Hammers
Worst Performance – Man United 4 West Ham 0 – the European campaign and injuries take their toll as United tear us a new one
Scapegoat – a Mauro Zarate strop upon a late substitution sees the fans turn on Mauro before a January loan move sees him move on
Hero – Dimitri Payet gives us a lift every time he runs with the ball
Most improved player – give Ogbonna time. I think he will have a shaky start but turn into the next Winston Reid.
What say you Hammers fans? Put your thoughts in the comments and I’ll review at the end of the season. You don’t have to do all of them, just whatever you feel like, and feel free to add your own!
