West Ham United will not sign Yaya Toure this summer, according to a report by Claret and Hugh.
There were rumors that Manuel Pellegrini could be interested in bringing a former player of his to the London Stadium, however, the reliable source of information has dispelled those links.
It is understood that the Hammers are not prepared to bring the former Premier League winner to the club, as it is thought that there is not enough wage budget to cover him.
A club insider has told the website that the budget had already been ‘smashed to bits’, following the arrivals that Pellegrini has already made this summer.
The likes of Felipe Anderson, Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko and Issa Diop have all joined the Hammers this summer and are all expected to be on hefty wages.
The former Manchester City manager also revealed in a press conference, ahead of their match with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, that he had felt Toure was a very good player, however, he already had a number of very good players already in that position.
“Yaya is a very good player,” he is quoted as saying by Claret and Hugh.
“In his position at the moment we have very good players. He will always be a good player in any team but right now our squad is ready.”
Pellegrini will be looking for an improved performance from his side when they meet the Cherries this weekend.
West Ham were convincingly beaten by Liverpool last weekend in his first competitive match in charge and he will be looking for an instant impact.
