West Ham United captain Mark Noble has paid credit to recent signings Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek, stating that the duo’s acquisitions have been ‘great’ for the club.
The Hammers are in the market for new captures this summer and face a race against the clock as the new Premier League season starts in three weeks’ time.
West Ham have been relatively quiet in the transfer window so far, with the January capture of Bowen and turning Soucek’s loan deal into a permanent signing the most recent acquisitions.
Noble has been speaking about the type of player he hopes will end up at the Hammers this summer and has stated that the club needs new men with both quality and the right attitude in terms of work rate.
“You get the special players come like Dimitri Payet or Carlos Tevez who the fans love and idolise, but players coming to the club need to know that if you work hard and you give everything for this fanbase, no matter how you play, they will respect you for that – full stop,” the West Ham skipper told the club’s official website.
“The signings of Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen have been great because they understand what it’s about and that’s the way they play.
“They’re the sort of signings that we should be making: very, very good players, but their work rate is as good as their technical ability.”
West Ham have been linked with a lot of new players this summer, with potential new additions across the park.
The London club are short of options at right-back, while bolstering the Hammers’ midfield stocks and finding another striker are also reported as priorities.
West Ham will start the new 2020-21 season with a home clash against Newcastle United, but have friendlies against Ipswich, Wycombe, Brentford and Bournemouth to play before the competitive action begins.
