There seems to be a building head of steam of speculation regarding the move of Charlie Austin from QPR to West Ham. First off, let's see what the press are saying…
The Mirror is reporting betting was suspended on Charlie coming to Upton Park
Daily Mail is suggesting the striker wants to stay in London
The Telegraph reckon we are not that interested
From my perspective, Austin would be a cracking signing. With our extended amount of games this season, we will need quality and depth in every area, especially up front. Austin would allow us to 'manage' Andy Carroll so he does not run himself into the ground too early rather than be forced to play him due to lack of other options. Sakho and Valencia are mustard but are not centre forwards in the traditional mould. Austin brings trouble to defenders and it will be a real coup if he was wearing the Hammers colours next season.
