The Hammers get back into it after the international break with a tough trip to Hull on Monday night, which you can view courtesy of our friends at Sky. Hull arguably had the best deadline action, signing some key players including our very own Mohammed Diame. Mo will be missed, but is certainly not irreplacable and I certainly see Kouyate as an upgrade and Alex Song a potentially bigger upgrade than that. Hull also recruited Gaston Ramirez, the talented Southampton midfielder and Abel Hernandez, an engimatic striker from Palermo with a close to 1 in 3 goal scoring record. With this in mind, I wouldn't want to be picking the football odds for this myself!
The interesting thing whilst picking the team was the sheer depth we have to the squad these days, it realy is impressive. Here's how I'd like us to start;
Bench – Jussi, Burke, Jenkinson, Valencia, Jarvis, Ravel and Cole
I am assuming O'Brien is still injured, even so, there's no room for Poyet, Amaltifano or Vaz Te, which is pretty amazing conidering the lack of depth we have been famed for. We have options from the bench and it really does become a 14 man game.
It's not going to be easy by any means, but if we apply ourselves and work as we did against Palace, I think we can win this, I'm going 1-3 to the Hammers. We are a tempting 5/2 to beat Hull on Monday night so you can make things more interesting for yourself. With Hull settling new players in and our away form looking better than at home, it could be worthwhile.
