‘He’s here’ – Moyes’ answer when asked about West Ham duo’s future

West Ham United manager David Moyes has distanced himself with speculation that Andriy Yarmolenko and Jack Wilshere could leave the club before the close of the transfer window.

The Hammers are desperate to land new faces but with tough financial times at the moment, the club appear to need to sell before they can buy.

Yarmolenko has had a stop-start time of it at West Ham since signing from Borussia Dortmund, with serious injury stopping the Ukraine international from maximising his opportunities in the Premier League.

Wilshere has also had plenty of injury setbacks at the Hammers, with the midfielder restricted to cameos appearances over the last 12 months.

With speculation that the West Ham pair could leave the London Stadium to free up space and unleash transfer funds, Moyes has praised both of the players mentioned.

“Jack’s got a year to go on his contract,” the club’s official website quote him as saying.

“He’s here and has been very good – I’ve really enjoyed working with him. For all the injuries he’s supposedly had, he’s been fantastic in training, so I’ve enjoyed having him.

“I haven’t heard anything about it (Yarmolenko leaving). He’s made some big contributions to us at different times, so it’s something I’m not aware of.”

The West Ham fans were frustrated by the sale of Grady Diangana to West Bromwich Albion, while the likes of Roberto, Albian Ajeti and Jordan Hugill have all been sold also.

The supporters are putting pressure on the Hammers hierarchy to splash the cash and bring in new players to help the team be competitive this season.

West Ham start their 2020-21 Premier League season with a home clash against Newcastle United later today.
