Crucial West Ham man set to commit to club, big boost to Hammers

Manuel Pellegrini has no desire to leave West Ham United despite suggestions that he could be heading back to Spain, reports the Daily Mail.

The Hammers boss has been linked with moving to the hot seat at Barcelona and Sevilla but the Chilean has no intentions of leaving London and intends to see out the contract he signed with the Olympic Stadium side last summer.

Pellegrini had an inconsistent start to the season in his first campaign as West Ham manager but his team found form towards the end to finish a respectable tenth place in the Premier League.

Sevilla are going to be looking to a new manager this summer as caretaker boss Joaquin Caparros is unlikely to be at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium next season.

The Whites and Reds wanted Pellegrini last year but the 65-year-old opted for a second spell in England with West Ham.

Barcelona are considering departing with manager Ernesto Valverde after being knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool despite the club’s former striker guiding Nou Camp side to back-to-back La Liga titles.

Valverde, who had a two-year playing spell with Barca between 1988-1990, could buy himself some time should he beat his former club Valencia in the Copa Del Rey final on May 25 to complete the domestic double.

Pellegrini had a spell in charge of Barcelona’s arch-rivals Real Madrid but only lasted a single season after failing to win the league and falling out with the club’s hierarchy.

Despite possible interest from one of the top clubs in the world, the West Ham boss has no desire to leave East London and determined to build on the strong end to the campaign which saw the Hammers win three on the bounce.
