The board have continued to put their money where their mouths are by making two signings for the Hammers, though both are yet to be officially confirmed by the club. First up is Demba Ba, the guy every parent hopes their kid wants on the back of their shirt. The 25 year old Senegalese striker joins on a 6 month loan from Hoffenheim, having failed a medical at Stoke City. I can't say I know much about the guy from a technical point of view, but we have pursued him with some vigour and I hope he can make a much needed contribution up front.
Next up is Gary O'Neill, the Middlesbrough winger, who is set to join on a permanent move. I've seen this guy a few times and he has always got stuck in. Not sure he has been at his best for Boro this season, but languishing in 20th place, I'm not sure anyone has. He knows the league, having played in the Premier League for Pompey and I hope he can help contribute to the fight for survival.
A big, warm welcome to both players, look forward to you becoming Hammer heroes. We don't expect you to be Ronaldo, but just watch the effort Scott Parker puts in every week and match that, we'll appreciate you for that…
