5 things we learned from Arsenal v West Ham

I imagine most of us are just about landing on earth after jumping for joy on Sunday.  It truly wasone of those moments as a Hammers fan you will remember for ever.  All the lads did well, but what were the stand out features of the game?

1.  In Slaven we trust – there was a lot of cynicism after being dumped out of the Europa, with quite a few sarcastically saying ‘we better win at Arsenal’.  I agree the Europa exit is unfortunate but will re-iterate that it is something we are just not set up to cope with personnel wise.  Slaven clearly felt he could get a result at Arsenal if he had his strongest team out, and he achieved it.  Let’s give the guy more trust.

2.  Oxford is first class – a lot has already been said about young Reece.  Having seen him for the first time in our European adventures, I liked what i saw and wow, did he put in a mature performance.  He was calm and in control and you feel he is ready for anything.

3.  Payet is mustard – loving the early signs of quality coming from Dimitri Payet.  Quick, keen, clever on the ball, good set piece, what’s not to like?  Like Julien Faubert on speed, he could be worth a few Premier League positions this season

4.  Solid at the back – Angelo Ogbonna hasn’t looked flawless in our European games, but he has looked like he is learning with every game and getting to grips with it all.  I felt he really grew in the game and him and Winston are a very tough pair to get through.

5.  Adrian is number one – possibly my favourite Hammer for his passion and will to win.  He also made some good saves and just drives the team forward.  Love the guy.

Bring on Leicester, in our top of the table clash.
