The Hammers get back into it after the international break with a tough trip to Hull on Monday night, which you can view courtesy of our friends at Sky.  Hull arguably had the best deadline action, signing some key players including our very own Mohammed Diame.  Mo will be missed, but is certainly not irreplacable and I certainly see Kouyate as an upgrade and Alex Song a potentially bigger upgrade than that.  Hull also recruited Gaston Ramirez, the talented Southampton midfielder and Abel Hernandez, an engimatic striker from Palermo with a close to 1 in 3 goal scoring record.  With this in mind, I wouldn't want to be picking the football odds for this myself!

The interesting thing whilst picking the team was the sheer depth we have to the squad these days, it realy is impressive.  Here's how I'd like us to start;

Hull v west ham

Bench – Jussi, Burke, Jenkinson, Valencia, Jarvis, Ravel and Cole

I am assuming O'Brien is still injured, even so, there's no room for Poyet, Amaltifano or Vaz Te, which is pretty amazing conidering the lack of depth we have been famed for.  We have options from the bench and it really does become a 14 man game.

It's not going to be easy by any means, but if we apply ourselves and work as we did against Palace, I think we can win this, I'm going 1-3 to the Hammers.  We are a tempting 5/2 to beat Hull on Monday night so you can make things more interesting for yourself.  With Hull settling new players in and our away form looking better than at home, it could be worthwhile.

    Yes I have to agree the trip to hull is going to be an interesting one, as will our team selection and tactics!
    It is ironic however that despite some quality signings and strengthening in nearly every position, that after a mere four games into the season we are already under pressure to produce results!
    Like many I agree with your selections at keeper, defence and three man midfield and like many I also believe this is our first choice defence and midfield. Let’s face it for better or worse the players mentioned in these positions(defence and midfield), kind of pick themselves!
    No, the real interest lies as always, in the final third and will be a more truer barometer of BS’s intentions this season.
    We have for once an apparent abundance of attacking options with our main problem now being how to fit them all in!
    Our other problem would seem to be how this attacking talent is is going to be used. Whether we will be defensive and try and steal a point as of old, or will we play as you have detailed above and let noble and zarate pull the strings as against palace!
    I for one hope we go for it! We are a team that is evolving but we won’t improve unless we play attacking football! COYI!
