West Ham United are thought to be interested in Real Betis’ Loren Moron, according to a report in Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish media outlet are claiming the Hammers are ready to activate the release clause in the striker’s current contract, which stands at £22million.
However, the report also suggests that the London Stadium outfit may have been forced into making the offer as the La Liga side have offered their ace a new deal, with an increase of the clause to £35m.
The Hammers could miss out on their man should they not make a move soon, as it has been claimed in the report that the forward is close to agreeing to a new deal to remain with the Benito Villamarin outfit.
The 24-year-old impressed during his debut season for Betis, having spent a number of years with their ‘B’ side, and scored seven league goals in 12 starts, helping the club to an impressive sixth.
West Ham are thought to be in the market for a striker this summer as Manuel Pellegrini looks to continue his rebuild of the club he inherited and Moron could be the man to lead his attack.
The Chilean has already added a number of talented names to his side as he looks to guide them to a place within European football.
With the additions of Jack Wilshere, Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko in midfield; Fabian Balbuena, Issa Diop and Ryan Fredericks at the back; and Lukasz Fabianski to improve the goalkeeping situation, confidence and optimism will be high at the London Stadium.
Should Moron arrive, the Hammers would have a talented man to lead the line and compete with the likes of Javier Hernandez, Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll, once the England international is back from his latest injury setback.
