The Hammers are reported to have won the battle of the Olympic stadium, with the legacy company preferring West Ham's bid to that of North London minnows Tottenham.

Whilst not all Hammers are happy with the move, and I have my reservations, one has to face up that the game has changed and that clubs need to grow and move with the times.  And the Emirates and City of Manchester Stadiums are more impressive than Highbury and Maine Road.  However, the issue of a running track remains a big issue for fans and it will be interesting how the club approach this 'atmosphere killer'.

I’d have thought the bigger atmosphere killer will be the fact that there will only be 15,000 people watching West Ham vs Doncaster in the Championship.

I am not a huge fan of the move, but it was vital to prevent Spurs getting it — that would have condemned WHU to inevitable decline. At least this way we will be more available to the mass of potential supporters in Essex.
