The agent of Genoa attacker Diego Laxalt has stated that West Ham United are one of the teams interested in his client.
The Hammers have another week to conclude their transfer business before the window closes and Manuel Pellegrini will have his Premier League squad.
The London club have been busy in the market this summer, with West Ham fans rightly excited about the new campaign due to the number of quality arrivals in the last two months.
The prospect of Laxalt being added to the Hammers ranks has been discussed by the player’s agent, with Angel Krasouski stating that the London side are one of the Uruguayan’s suitors.
“(Genoa president Enrico) Preziosi promised him last year that he would have started the process after the World Cup, there are chances of starting towards an important team, it’s the intention, to change for a new project and also economically,” the agent told RMC Sport.
“So many clubs, not only Italian but also foreign, there are rumours, Napoli and also West Ham are interested. They made a proposal, I know the sporting director [Husillos] and Pellegrini.
“We are talking, we will see what will happen. Preziosi…it is he who will decide the price of the player, I believe that after Diego’s World Cup, this will be climbed but I can not answer.”
Laxalt would be a versatile option for West Ham, with the Genoa man able to play as an attacking midfielder, winger or even full-back at a push.
While the Uruguayan would be an interesting addition, it looks as though Pellegrini’s priorities for the remainder of the window are the potential capture of a new central midfielder and striker.
