West Ham United are set to land Arsenal striker Lucas Perez, the attacker’s agent Rodrigo Lovelle has told Sport Witness.
The Hammers need a new striker to complete an excellent summer in the transfer window, with Manuel Pellegrini bringing a host of new players to the club.
However, with Andy Carroll still injured, Javier Hernandez and Jordan Hugill are the only natural strikers at West Ham’s disposal, with Marko Arnautovic also in contention for a number nine role.
The Irons were reportedly interested in Perez during his time at Deportivo La Coruna, but Arsenal beat the club to the striker signature.
The Spaniard has failed to launch at the Emirates Stadium and it appears that West Ham could now land their man at a significantly lower price.
Sport Witness claim the agent has stated a three-year contract will be penned, with the potential option for an additional 12 months.
Perez’s lack of proven ability in the Premier League will be a concern, but his addition will give West Ham another option in the final third.
